Awakening, the gate of the Eternal
Here and now
“The present instant is the door flung open onto Eternity.”
Awakening belongs to the same area as Transcend. Both share the human being's relationship with the primary experience of limit and finitude.
No darkness
And yet, in keeping with the character of the whole series, oriented toward re-solution and transfiguration, the theme has nothing dark about it.
On the contrary, it is a precious occasion for awakening, here and now, to the absolute uniqueness of the present instant.
The eternal instant
The instant, grasped for what it is in its essence: the door flung open onto Eternity.
The impact
Dazzling. In its incandescent colors it recalls the explosion of light that sets the fields alight in spring.
Brilliant reds, yellows and greens chase one another, scything through the black of the background, and define a form with lines of flame.
The call
Awakening is a deep call to full awareness of the instant, the kind that opens onto the Eternal.
What opens, in this instant?
