The Silent Way, the way of silence
Winter as a teacher
“In the silence of winter, the earth dreams of spring.”
Among all peoples winter has been the symbol of nature's deepest turning inward, the time when the Sun is least present. It is not a loss. It is a gathering of strength from the depths.
It has to do with sleep and rest, with inwardness and the invisible, with silence and peace. After the explosion of spring, the fullness of summer and the weariness of autumn, winter allows nature to regenerate, and prepares the momentum of the spring to come.
Five squares
For the first time five quadrangular figures appear, and not by chance. The square is stasis, stillness, pause.
- The central square reveals the primordial symbol of the Taoist Yin Yang, the perfect balance between opposites.
- The others intersect the radiating crowns, up to the last one, whose corners touch the four sides.
The colors of rest
They fade in counterpoint: from delicate magenta to soft light blue, to pure white, to yellow, to red. A subtle dialogue of stillness without monotony, of active rest, of fertile emptiness.
The artwork captures the essence of the most mysterious of seasons, the depth of silence.
What is your winter preparing, in silence?
